A little about Brenda…
Hi, I'm Brenda Jacobson!
I've always been a passionate person. Whether I'm focused on growing tomatoes in the yard or raising awareness about violence against women, I go all in. But I'm most passionate about mentoring moms with young children and helping them navigate faith, life, and parenting.
I've been mentoring moms in churches and serving as a parenting coach for moms recovering from addiction for more than a dozen years. I've had the privilege of speaking to women across the world including groups in Nicaragua, Romania, and Africa. My passion also led me to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro on behalf of women in war zones suffering unbelievable gender violence. I still can't believe I did it!
I'm the author of Purposeful Christian Parenting: The All-in-One Book Journal and Workbook to Help You Grow Spiritually and Become the Best Mom in the World for Your Children. We offer online mentoring (LINK) through this resource so moms can get involved from the comfort of their home without having to hire a babysitter.
I'm a mother to four grown children—two boys and two girls—and I've been married to my husband, Don, for over 40 years. I have the privilege of being called "Nana" by my grandchildren.
Here are six of my favorite things:
Sipping coffee by the fire in winter. Let's just say my husband is justified in describing my coffee as "dessert in a cup."
Being outdoors. Whether I'm hiking, horseback riding, or water-skiing, I always feel the Lord's presence when I'm enjoying nature.
Gardening. Right now my garden includes tomatoes, asparagus, blueberries, apples, peaches, basil, spinach, and more!
Hospitality. Whether I'm hosting a Fourth of July party or taking in an out-of-town friend for the week, I love having people in my home.
Travel. I love experiencing the world through different cultures. I've had the privilege of meeting people from five European countries, five African countries (including the Congo), Romania, Mexico, Canada, Nicaragua, and various regions of the United States.
Photography. I've captured special moments with my camera for decades - photographing weddings, concerts, family portraits, senior pictures, home interiors, and, of course, personal family vacations and holidays.
As you can see, I have many personal passions, but most of all I love family and helping moms find their way to a deep and peaceful relationship with the Lord.
